Prior to applying to the Pension Boards internship, I had no knowledge of the organization. However, throughout the interview process, I quickly realized this was a place I wanted to be. They have been so welcoming and are always wanting to help me in any way possible.

Throughout the internship, I had the opportunity to work on multiple projects and my manager made sure I was exposed to different areas of work, like the Accounting team. It was really good to see how interconnected all the different teams were. The Pension Boards is the definition of collaboration. Everyone knows how important it is to collaborate with one another.

In addition, it was also really interesting to work on the Capstone Project with my fellow interns. Out of all of the different projects I’ve done throughout school and other internships, the Capstone Project will always stand out. It included almost every aspect of business. We started off by analyzing data and finished with marketing. It was delightful to work with a diverse and knowledgeable team. Each member of the team had a strong skillset that helped us reach our goal.

It was an unbelievable experience, and I am grateful to have worked with such a great group of people. I was also a big fan of the leadership roundtable series that occurred every Wednesday. The interns got to sit and glean from different department managers. We learned about everyone’s background and their personal career journey. The best part of it all was the amazing advice we all received from a very knowledgeable group of individuals!
