Michele Hresko is First Woman to be Appointed Chief Information Officer

The Pension Boards announced today the appointment of Michele Hresko as Chief Information Officer for the Pension Boards, the first woman in the company’s history to lead the Information Technology team.

Michele succeeds former Chief Technology and Information Officer Thomas J. Nolan, who recently retired after 14 years of service.

“This milestone is more than a promotion, it is a testament to our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging,” said Interim President and CEO, Walter A. Reyes. The Pension Boards is an extremely diverse organization, and we are making conscious strides in elevating women to leadership roles. Michele spearheaded the transformation of the technology team overseeing application development, web technology, and recordkeeping system support, strengthening our information systems,” he continued.

“Being the first woman to lead the IT team for the Pension Boards is both an honor and a responsibility,” said CIO Michele Hresko. “Technology is about innovation, and innovation thrives on diversity. However, this personal achievement is about paving the way for others to see that leadership is about vision and capability,” she continued.

In this role, Michele will lead initiatives to integrate new technologies to improve efficiencies and ensure resilience of our information systems.

Michele joined the Pension Boards in 2021 as Director, Information Systems after serving as a consultant for the Pension Boards on the business technology development team.

She brings more than 15 years of large enterprise program management and development experience in the pension and benefits industry. Previously, Michele worked for TIAA, where she was Senior Manager of Program Management for the Institutional Retirement Plan Services Management Team. There, she managed enterprise-level IT service enhancements across institutional clients, delivered complicated multimillion-dollar development programs, and identified and led process improvement initiatives.
